Thank you for your participation in this program. The students that you will be working with come from many different communities, backgrounds, and experiences. They have had little control over the "hand they've been dealt". YOU have the opportunity to be the one person that can truly make a difference in their lives. While one of your primary goals as a tutor is to help your students improve their reading and math skills, equally important is to build a "connection" with your student.
These training modules will assist you in developing your skill base as a student tutor. Each module will give you tips and best practices designed to pull on your own experiences and strengths to build motivation and engagement for both you and your student while giving you a structure for your sessions. Remember that someone from our staff is always available to answer questions!
